Aug 31, 2007, Disney World Resorts are Now Smoke Free

Guess what -- all of the Walt Disney World resorts are now smoke-free.  This new rule actually went into effect June 1st of this year.  What does this mean to the smoker?

It means that you won't be able to smoke at the resort except in special designated areas outdoors.  No smoking in your room, or even on the balcony or patio of your room.

Before you decide to go ahead and smoke on your terrace or in your room anyway...Disney is serious and plans on enforcing it.  How?  By levying a fine (called a recovery fee) of between $250 and $500, for cleaning costs.  Ouch!

Disney World is actually behind the times, so to speak -- Disneyland in California went smoke-free in 2006.

Keep all this in mind if you are a smoker, and plan to stay at a Walt Disney World resort.  You don't want to get stuck with an extra recovery fee!

Aug 30, 2007, Finding the Lowest Price Disney World Tickets

To find the lowest priced Disney World tickets, I'm going to tell you how to find the most expensive tickets first.  Why?  Because you need to know the most you will pay, before you can tell if a discount is a deal!

For non-Florida residents, the most expensive theme park ticket price is $71.00 (yikes!).  This is the most you would ever pay -- because it's the amount Disney World charges if you show up at the front gate.

Now if you buy several days at once, the price per day starts coming down.  If you buy a 4-day pass, it's a total of $212 -- or $53.00 a day.

The popular 5 day pass is $215 -- yes, that's right -- pay just $3 more than the 4-day pass and you get an extra day!

Finally, the 10-day pass -- it's just $225 -- just $10 more than the 5-day pass and you get double the days!.

You can see that the more days you buy at once, the lower your price per day.

Now that you have this information, you can approach the ads for discount Disney World tickets armed with some information. When you see an outlandishly low price, find out if it's actually for one day, or a per-day price on a multiple day pass.

Aug 29, 2007, Make Your Next Disney Resort Stay a Deluxe One

Luxury hotels on the Disney World grounds are also known as the Disney Deluxe resorts.  Each luxury resort has its own theme, and everything from the rooms to the lobby, to the dining and even the pools reflect that theme!

The best-known of the Disney World Deluxe reports is the Contemporary, and it's also one of the first two Disney resorts built.  This report is unique because the monorail goes right through the middle of it!

The Polynesian resort is South Seas magic, and it's also one of the first Disney World Orlando resorts.  The Polynesian also has its own monorail staion (very convenient for going to the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT).

Would you like to stay in a victorian-inspired resort?  You'll love Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa -- it's the most luxurious of all the Deluxe resorts!

The Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of the newest resorts, and you can even go animal-spotting at night!

The Yacht Club is turn-of-the-century elegance, with a New England flavor.  And guess what -- you can see the EPCOT fireworks from the hotel grounds!

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is also one of the newest resorts.  Imagine the Pacific Northwest, re-created in Central Florida.  It's not as strange a combination as you might think!

These are six excellent reasons to make your next Disney resort stay a luxurious one, in a Disney Deluxe resort.

Aug 27, 2007, It's the Disney Resort Value Season Now!

Have you ever wanted to know the dates for the Disney World resorts seasons -- so you can find the best prices?

From now through October 3rd we're in the Value season, where you find the lowest prices for Disney resort stays.

From October 4th through November 24th is the Regular season.  More expensive than the Value, but still an excellent price.

From November 25 through December 19th is once a gain the Value season.

Then from December 20th through 31st is the Holiday season -- the most expensive time of year to visit Disney World in Orlando.

Just a quick peek into 2008 and you'll find that from January 1st through Feburary 13th is the Value season once again.  After that, though, Peak season prices come into play, starting Feburary 14th.

Aug 25, 2007, What Are the Theme Park Ticket Options?

There are three main options for the Disney World theme park tickets:

  • Park Hopper
  • Water Park and More
  • No Expiration

The Park Hopper lets you visit more than one theme park each day.  Say you want to spend the morning and afternoon at Animal Kindgon, but the evening at the Magic Kingdom.  The Park Hopper options lets you do that.  Otherwise, you can only visit one theme park per day

The Water Park and More lets you into Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Pleasure Island, Disney Quest and ESPN's Wide Wold of Sports complex.

The No Expiration is just that -- the ticket is good for forever.  Disney theme park tickets are notmally only good for 14 days from the time they are first used, when you buy a multi-day pass.  But if you want to buy multi-day tickets, use some now and the rest next year, you need the No Expiration option.

Aug 24, 2007, Florida Resident Seasonal Pass Information

Florida resident seasonal passes are a great way to enjoy Walt Disney World.  If you plan to go and play in the parks more than 5 days in 3 months, you can certain save money by buying a Disney World seasonal pass.  Currently, it's $230 for adults, $203 for children 9 and under.

These prices include the Park Hopper option -- a great deal!

But there are blackout dates -- dates when you can't use your seasonal pass to get into the parks.  From now (the end of August) through the remainder of the year, the blackout dates are December 21 through January 3.

Keep in mind -- you will be asked to show a photo ID having a Florida address for each adult in your party to get a Florida Resident seasonal pass.   Photo IDs accepted include State of Florida driver's license, State of Florida issued photo ID, military ID for a Florida base, or photo college ID for a Florida college or university.

Aug 23, 2007, Florida Resident Ticket Prices

You probably know that Disney World has special Florida Resident rates.  That lets us here in the Sunshine State get a bit of a price break!

The best-known of the Florida Resident ticket discounts is the 3-day option, for $125.00 (at the time of this writing).  Now a normal 1-day pass for a Florida resident is $63.90, so you can see that you almost get a whole day free when buying the 3-day!

Of course, the more days you buy, the less it costs per day.  For another example, a 7-day pass is $208.00 -- roughly $30 a day. Less than half the normal one-day rate.

Now if you buy a multi-day pass, I reccommend getting the "No Expiration" option for the passes.  Why?  Because normally when you buy a multi-day pass, it's good for 14 days from the time you first use it.

If you want to use a couple days here and a couple days there, get the no expiration option.  It adds about $12 a day, but since ticket prices aren't going anywhere but up...you may as well get the lowest rates while you can!
